Check connectivity before choosing an app feeder. Some current models support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, while others require a 2.4GHz network and may be difficult to pair with band-steering routers. Confirm that the named app is available for every phone and account that needs access in your country. A saved schedule may continue without internet, but remote changes, alerts, live video, and cloud history will not; test offline behavior on the exact firmware before relying on it.

An automatic feeder manages timing; it does not monitor appetite, refill water, notice illness, or make prolonged unattended care safe.
